NPF to pursue corruption charges against PDA govt

Opposition NPF has reaffirmed to “vigorously” pursue various issues raised with the Governor of Nagaland by the party’s legislature wing on the alleged rampant corruption of the present NDPP-led-PDA government.

NPF through its press bureau said the consultative meeting of party’s core committee, which was held on July 1 along with party’s legislature wing at central office Kohima, deliberated on various issues confronting the Nagas.

NPF stated that the consultative meeting affirmed that the party’s legislature wing would participate in the recent formation of the core committee on Naga Political issue provided it confined its role as active facilitator. However, the party said that NPF-PAM would continue to exist.

According to the press bureau, the meeting maintained that since the Naga issue was a political issue, acknowledged by the Government of India, it has to be resolved politically by exhibiting political will.

Therefore, the meeting affirmed that the party did not endorse the opinion of minister Temjen Imna Along that “the settlement of the Naga political issue should be within the constitution of India”. NPF said Along’s remark was absolutely contrary to the spirit of the ongoing peace process. The opposition NPF asserted that such individual opinion should, therefore, not stand on the way for an honourable solution.

Meanwhile, the meeting observed one-minute silent prayer in memory of the late Toshi Wungtong, advisor government of Nagaland, who passed away July 1, 2021 in New Delhi and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
