The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Wokha Division on Wednesday continued its second-day Assembly Constituency tour, covering 39 Sanis and 40 Bhandari ACs, engaging party workers and community members to strengthen grassroots outreach.
At 39 Sanis AC, held at Community Hall Sanis Town, treasurer NPF Wokha division Rhonthungo Lotha described NPF as not just a political party but a Naga peace movement, urging workers to carry its message to village units. Farmers’ Wing (Central) secretary Y. Mhonimo Ngullie highlighted agriculture as the backbone of Naga society and called for greater support and awareness of government schemes.
Youth Wing (Central) general secretary Merithung Odyuo stressed the importance of social media in sharing party activities, while Women’s Wing (Central) general secretary Renboni Kikon encouraged sincere service regardless of position.
General secretary COB Er. Rhonthungo Ovung said the tour aims to remind members of government programmes and address internal gaps, while COB general secretary Renbio Lotha termed the party merger a major achievement and highlighted youth opportunities under the “Japan–Nagaland Connect” initiative.
COB vice president Y. Renbomo Kikon called for respect towards leadership, while senior vice president COB Tsumongo Ovung urged unity and support for party leaders, noting the significance of agriculture leadership in the state. The programme was chaired by president Women’s Wing 39 Sanis Nzano Tsopoe, with the welcome address and report delivered by president 39 Sanis, Benathung Kikon.
Later, at 40 Bhandari AC, the concluding session was held at Town Hall, Bhandari where COB member Mhonthung Patton highlighted the purpose of the tour and stressed coordination across the party’s four-tier structure.
Youth Wing (Wokha Division) president Amos Odyuo described NPF as a strong regional party following its merger, while Central Youth Wing working president Achamo Kikon termed the merger a positive step and called for stronger grassroots engagement.
Women’s Wing vice president Grace Murry encouraged humility and leadership development, while COB secretary Mhao Odyuo cautioned against corruption and money politics. Central Women’s Wing vice president Ekonlumi called for unity and greater participation of women.
COB member and Wokha in-charge John Ezung said the tour marks the party’s first after the merger and assured more grassroots programmes, while senior vice president COB Tsumongo Ovung reiterated that unity under one regional party is key to strengthening the Naga political movement.
The Bhandari programme was chaired by general secretary NPF 40 AC Paul Kikon, with the welcome address and report presented by president NPF 40 AC Nyamo Odyuo.
