Wokha, Jun 10 (NPN): Naga People’s Front (NPF), Wokha Division, convened a public meeting with party workers and residents of Ward No. 8 (Tsumang B) at the VDBs & WDVCC Hall on June 10 in preparation for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) by election.
The meeting was attended by NPF secretary general Achumbemo Kikon, advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA, and advisor to the chief minister Dr. Chumben Murry.
Addressing the gathering, Achumbemo said the strength of the NPF lies at the grassroots level and noted that the party had carefully scrutinised applications before awarding the ticket to Ar. Aling Lotha. He urged voters to make wise decisions for their welfare, stressing that the NPF, which celebrated its diamond jubilee last year, remains committed to safeguarding the interests of the people and the Constitution of India. He maintained that a regional party is best positioned to protect citizens’ rights.
Mhathung Yanthan emphasized the importance of electing the right candidate to strengthen the party and promote the development of Wokha town. He called upon voters to support a long term master plan for growth, describing Aling Lotha as “the right candidate at the right time.”
Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe reminded the gathering that every vote counts and expressed confidence in a decisive victory for the NPF candidate. He urged party workers and supporters to remain united and place their trust in the leadership.
Dr. Chumben Murry extended his best wishes to the candidate, describing him as capable of contributing meaningfully to town planning. He also encouraged the youth of Tsumang Colony to participate constructively in politics and work together for the progress of Wokha town.
Speaking on the occasion, NPF candidate Ar. Aling Lotha expressed gratitude to party leaders and workers for reposing their trust in him. Seeking public support in the ensuing ULB by poll, he assured that he would work for the welfare of the ward and community. Highlighting his professional background as an architect, he pledged to contribute his expertise towards town planning and development.
The meeting concluded with a call for peace, cooperation and collective effort to ensure progress in Wokha, while urging citizens to uphold the principles of healthy democracy during the upcoming ULB by poll.
