NPF Youth Wing hosts motivational talk on leadership

Correspondent

The NPF Central Youth Wing organised a motivational talk on biblical principles of leadership at the party’s Central Headquarters, Kohima, on April 27. The session brought together party leaders and youth members for an interactive programme focused on ethical political leadership, unity and service.
Delivering the keynote address, Rev. Apostle Luoliehu Yimsung, a missionary from Nagaland serving internationally since 1986, spoke on leadership from a biblical perspective while recalling his long-standing association with the state. He noted that his connection with Nagaland dated back to 1995 when he was invited to speak at a pre-Christmas celebration under the mentorship of former chief minister S. C. Jamir, and since then had maintained positive engagements with successive chief ministers.
Yimsung informed that he had delivered motivational talks to more than 200 groups across Nagaland and interacted with leaders from different political parties. He clarified that he was neither a politician nor affiliated with any party, but a clergyman guided by biblical values. He emphasized that the slogan “Nagaland for Christ” should not be misinterpreted, describing it as a message of hope and unity for all Nagas, and underscored the close interconnection between indigenous culture and faith.
Outlining four categories of individuals within organisations—wanderers, followers, achievers and leaders—he said true leadership involved vision, perseverance and the ability to inspire others. He urged members to exercise wisdom in selecting representatives in political, social and religious institutions, stressing teamwork and valuing contributions of followers. He further encouraged leaders to invest in team-building, mentorship and collective growth, cautioning against complacency.
Yimsung announced that the third edition of the “Bless Kohima” prayer drive would be held on May 2 with participation expected from 150 to 200 people. Reflecting on his spiritual journey, he recalled that his ministry began at Kohima Bible College in 1980. He expressed optimism about the future of the Naga people, stressing that prayer, wisdom and unity were essential in overcoming challenges and strengthening leadership.
Earlier, NPF Central Youth Wing president Süpoyi Vezhü, in his welcome address, called for unity, discipline and vision among party members. He reminded that politics was not merely about power but about responsibility and service to the people. Short speeches were also delivered by senior vice president (COB i/c) Nüzota Swüro and legislature in-charge Imkongmar.
