NPF Central Youth Wing Kohima has expressed deep gratitude to prime minister Narendra Modi and national BJP president Amit Shah for their “unambiguous decision to support the leadership of chief minister T.R.Zeliang in the midst of current political impasse created by rebel NPF legislators”.
In a statement, NPF youth wing said the decision of the prime minister and national BJP president “ not to favour change of leadership in the DAN government” was a “sagacious decision” that has been lauded by the people of Nagaland.
The wing accused “rebel NPF legislators at Sovima camp” of deploying “all kinds of cheap tricks to usurp power unconstitutionally” attempts to “sway the opinion of central leaders” but that the “assurance of prime minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah” in supporting the leadership of chief minister T.R.Zeliang “has come as a big blow to their game plan”. It also said “rebel NPF leaders” even attempted to “hijack the duly recognised NPF by making unconstitutional and illegal claims” before the Election Commission but that “their plot have been thwarted, after their petition was rejected by the commission.”
Despite the thinking in “the rebel camp” that they could “bluff central leaders with their gimmickry” NPF youth wing urged the “rebel NPF leaders at Sovima camp” to realise that the “wisdom of the central leaders is above their and can never be fooled”. Further it reiterated that central leaders like the prime minister and BJP president would never ‘waver from the true principle of governance” and switch to “favour some ambitious state rebel leaders” out to hijack the “duly elected government just of self interest” but would ensure that the DAN-III provided a stable government for the welfare of people.
NPF youth said that “like a drowning man” the “rebel leaders at Sovima” were “desperately trying to cling on to any object” to save themselves from sinking by making “all kinds of ineffectual allegations” against the chief minister and NPF president, through local media, social networking, SMS etc “ to confuse the people”.
The wing, appealed to people of Nagaland not to be confused or misled by the “wrong propaganda of the rebel campers at Sovima”. It also expressed gratitude to union finance minister Arun Jaitley for having understood the poor financial position as apprised by the chief minister by assuring to provide financial relief to the state. It said the assurances elicited “new hope to the people” and also renewed their faith in the commitment of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
