An emergency meeting of the Council of Kilonser, Tatars, Secretariat Staff, army officers lead by commander-in-chief and party functionaries on Tuesday unanimously resolved to impeach president Shobalakhum and ato kilonser Shitoho Chophy with immediate effect for their alleged unconstitutional and high-handed act, and violating party rules by withdrawing from the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGS), which was led by convener MB Neokpao Konyak, and working conveners P Tikhak and Isak Sumi.
The meeting also unanimously elected Kihoto Chophi as ato kilonser and Imkongsangba Pongen as president of NPGN/NNC (Hozheto). Further, the house resolved to continue supporting WC, NNPGs. This was stated in a press release.
