Reacting NPGN/NNC statement issued by Shoba Lakhum and Z. Hozheto Chopi published on December 7, the NPGN/NNC (NA) has clarified that president rule was imposed by its president T. Ovung on June 1, 2019 for various reasons.
In a press note, MIP NPGN/NNC (NA) said PR was imposed due to lack of communication to the president by general secretary Hozheto Chopi on the status of Naga talks with GoI, appointment of vice president Y.Z. Naga by Hozheto without the knowledge of president and tatar hoho and running a “parallel personal underground” group allegedly by Hozheto, comprising of army and civil wing including kilonsers and council of ministers.
It said Hozheto had no authority to issue order and to terminate president T. Ovung and Kiyelho Wokhami when presidents rule was in force. This was the reason why Hozheto was terminated NPGN/NNC(NA) by Ovung, it added.
MIP reminded all Nagas that T. Ovung was the president of NPGN/NNC(NA) and Kiyelho Wokhami, the general secretary.
Further, MIP stated that despite attempts made by vested interest, NPGN/NNC(NA) will continue to stand for Naga cause. It therefore sought the support and prayers of all for a just and honourable future of Nagas.
