NPGN/NNC has dismissed reports of the impeachment of its president Shoba Lakhum and ato kilonser Shitoho Chophy, calling them unofficial and unauthorized.
In a statement issued following an extraordinary National Tatar Hoho meeting held on February 5, the organization asserted that its leadership remains intact with the majority. The meeting, attended by key officials including the Naga Army commander-in-chief and all rank and files, council of kilonsers, speaker of NTH, Union Territories, regional workers, chief secretary and secretariat staff strongly nullify the so called impeachment, which was published in the local media.
The group accused Kihoto Chophi of being a “habitual defector” and said that they were blessed by his decision to move away from the government along with a few accomplices including Imkongsangba Pongen, who was not even an active member of the group.
It said that a lone kilonser with handful of tatars and lone secretary, who claim to be the mandate of the government, was a mockery to the Naga national movement.
Therefore, NPGN/NNC under the collective leadership of president Shoba Lakhum and ato kilonser Shitoho Chophy make it clear that the government was still intact and very much with the WC/NNPGs under N Kitovi Zhimomi as convener, until the final agreement with the Government of India is signed.
NPGN/NNC also warned Kihoto for trying to dismantle the sanctity and integrity of the government by acting on its own self style interest and not to use the sacred nomenclature of the government and good name of Lt. Hozheto Chophi (former Ato Kilonser) for his personal gain.
Further, NPGN/NNC cautioned business establishments against entertaining any unauthorized donations in the name of NPGN/NNC (Kihoto), warning that the organization would not be responsible for any such actions.
