Nagaland Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (NPMCC) has demanded that the state government and the Centre rollback LPG prices to 2014 price.
In a memorandum addressed to the governor, the NPMCC president N Lucy and general secretary Akumla Pongen pointed out that LPG price, which was Rs. 410 per 14.50kg cylinder in 2014, has increased to Rs 904 in September 2021.
State Mahila Congress stated that economy of the public had dipped down to the bottom due to pandemic and unfriendly economic policies of the state government making purchase of LPG unaffordable for households especially widows.
NPMCC stated that a welfare government was expected to exercise the Essential Commodities Act with the given situation to fix the prices in the interests of common consumers without bias or ill will.
