Naga Public Organization (NPO) has urged the two warring groups of the NSCN(K) to maintain peace and tranquillity in border area and to overcome all misunderstandings “for the sake of Nagas struggle to live as one people and nation.”
In a press release, NPO deputy secretary general, Y Khomong Khiam, said the organisation after closely monitoring the present scenario has observed that Eastern Naga public were in coma. NPO added that impending situation was endangering the normal life of the people there.
Reminding the Naga political groups to understand that Eastern Nagaland was the only region where one took shelter through thick and thin for decades, the organisation said Eastern Nagas do not want the region to be known as the birth place of factions.
In this regard, NPO has called upon both the parties to immediately cease all forms of media war in order to prevent the situation from deteriorating further and to resolve any misunderstanding from within. Meanwhile, NPO has also expressed wonder as to why all the Naga civil society organisations (CSOs) and responsible intellectuals and citizens chose to remain silent at this juncture. NPO has, therefore, urged upon every right thinking Naga to come forward and intervene.
