National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland state and Bethesda AG Church (BAGC) Dimapur celebrated advent Christmas respectively on December 19 at Dimapur.
National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland state: National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland state celebrated advent Christmas at the Chekiye village residence of NPP Dimapur district unit president, Kasheto Yepthomi on December 19.
A press release by NPP Nagaland state IPR & media cell stated that, in his brief speech, Dr. Andrew Ahoto highlighted about the NPP as the only national party from the entire North East and encouraged the gathering to choose the leaders wisely even if they may not support a common party during the elections. He also enlightened the gathering that NPP was committed to bring the entire North East together for common growth and development while envisioning a goal for “One North East, one voice”. He further greeted everyone on the joyous and blessed occasion of Christmas and New Year on behalf of the entire rank and file of NPP Nagaland state. Kasheto Yepthomi shared his experiences about how he was encouraged to join the NPP being greatly motivated by the young and dynamic national president, Conrad Sangma, current chief minister of Meghalaya. He also shared his view that at present, the Nagas were suffering due to a leadership crisis and for which opportunists have willfully led to chaos and underdevelopment of infrastructure in the state including health care and roads, etc. Others who spoke included state women wing president, Yashila Ao, NPYF president Yanghori Sangtam and minority cell (non-tribal) president, Juel Acharjee.
Earlier, programme was chaired by NPP Nagaland state general secretary (IPR) & media), Tohovi Achumi and invocation by state women wing president Alemla Ao. Dedication prayer was offered by NPP Nagaland state general secretary (org.), Limanuksung Longkumer.
BAGC: Bethesda AG Church (BAGC) celebrated pre-Christmas under the theme “Good tidings of great joy” on December 19, at Bethesda Celebration Centre, Dimapur.
A press release by BAGC stated that, Christmas greetings were delivered by director, Peace Channel, Rev. Fr. Anto Paul, president, NCRA, Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, senior Os, DSBC, Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu and district superintendent Nagaland, AGEI Rev. Tusaya Kath.
Special songs, drama and choir were also presented by Bethesda youths and church members, while benediction was pronounced by director, Golden Crown Theological College, Rev. Dr. Nzan Odyuo.
