NPP Nagaland marks 13th foundation day

DIMAPUR

National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State, observed 78th Birth Anniversary of its founder, Late PA Sangma, along with the 13th Foundation Day of the party at the State Party Office, Dimapur on Monday under the theme “For the People, With the People”.
In a press release, NPP Nagaland through its media cell stated that delivering his message, vice president NPP Nagaland, K James Vizo, extended greetings on behalf of State president, A. Nyamnyei Konyak, to all members across the state.
He highlighted the significance of NPP in Nagaland’s political landscape and stressed the need for collective effort to take the party forward with a vision for the 2028 elections.
Remembering Late PA Sangma as a statesman who championed rights of tribal and marginalized communities and strongly advocated for the Northeast at the national level, he emphasized that NPP was not just a political party, but truly “the People’s Party”, as reflected in its theme.
Vizo further urged party members, as Christian cadres, to uphold prayers for leaders and policymakers, quoting 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and Romans 13:1, reminding that authority is divinely ordained for governance and service to the people.
Brief history and tribute to the founder was presented by general secretary (IPR) & spokesperson, Ranjit Singhvi, who recalled the inspiring leadership of Late PA Sangma, from his humble beginnings to becoming one of the tallest leaders of the nation, and how his values laid the foundation for NPP as the only national party emerging from the Northeast. Solidarity messages were also shared by district leaders.
The welcome address was delivered by vice president, Rosy Yanthan, who acknowledged sacrifices of Late PA Sangma in building NPP, and urged members to carry forward his vision of inclusive development and justice for the Northeast, while district president NPP Wokha, Yansuthung, expressed his commitment to strengthening party’s grassroots presence and encouraged youth to actively engage in politics. NPYF District president Dimapur, Zato Sumi, further reminded the gathering of the vital role of youth in nation-building and pledged the Youth Wing’s steadfast support to the party’s leadership and people’s aspirations.
A 10-member delegation, comprising of State NPYF, NPWF and State office bearers, led by general secretary (Adm) Chuba Jamir, attended the National NPP event in Tura, Meghalaya, and would also participate in the All-India Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the party scheduled on September 20 in Tura.
