State National People’s Party unit observed its 11th foundation day, which also marked the 76th birth anniversary of PA Sangma on September 1, at Hotel Acacia. NPP media cell informed that Ranjit Singhvi on behalf of the NPP state president A Nyamnyei Konyak’s highlighted the message on foundation day and birth anniversary.
Singhvi, highlighted about the achievements of late Purno Akitok Sangma and how he founded the NPP in 2013 and acknowledged his popularity on the National level, the only person from Northeast who had the privilege to be the Speaker of Lok Shabha. He further explained how he worked for the betterment of the tribal of the Northeast and raised his voice to empower the people of the Northeast region.
Later, in commemoration of Sangma birth anniversary and foundation day, the party members planted trees at Tourist Lodge. The programme was chaired by Lima Longchar, invocation by Hiketo Shohe, welcome speech by State Executive Member H Angnyei Konyak and vote of thanks by Wochamo Yanthan.
