NPPCL-WU to go on strike today

Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company Limited Workers’ Union (NPPCL-WU) has decided to stage a ‘pen/tools down’ strike on June 30 as a mark of protest to demand the eight months pending salary, the union’s general secretary SK Das stated in a press note.
Further, the union has also opposed the move to station the NPPCL, CEO at NPM, Jagiroad.
The union demanded that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) be stationed at NPPCL, particularly at the time when the paper mill was undergoing process of ‘rehabilitation’.
In this regard, the union in a letter to the CMD, Hindustan Paper Corporation, Kolkata appealed to shift the CEO’s headquarters to NPPCL.
