Nagaland Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NRMSATA 2013) batch has appealed to the government and School Education department to release the pending five months salary. A press release by NRMSATA 2013 president, Mhasikholie Paul Belho and general secretary, Vika S Sumi stated that the teachers were serving at the secondary level (class 9 and 10) in all government high schools where classes start in January every year for coaching classes and for conducting model exams for class 10 for their matriculation exam. It further stated that the RMSA 2013 teachers were teaching without salary for five months for the sake of the students’ future and if “the state government and the concerned department is really concerned about the welfare and future of the students, they must uphold their part by paying monthly salary of the teachers”. While stating that they had exhausted all peaceful means of appealing for their rightful salary, it said the teachers are left with no other choice but to resort to agitation by boycotting classes.
