Nagaland State Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Board (NSAMB) held its board of directors’ meeting on June 9 at the Conference Hall of NSAMB, Dimapur.
In a press release, NSAMB informed that the meeting was held under the chairmanship of minister, agriculture and co-operation and NSAMB chairman, G Kaito Aye.
In a keynote address, Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), Y Kiheto Sema said it was the desire of the government of the day to deliver benefits specially to the farming community of the state.
Kikheto said in the short span of time, more than 1425 MT of various agricultural commodities have been marketed out to the tune of Rs. 7.23 crore after the establishment of organic AC market in the state at a juncture where marketing business was captured by “others”.
He also appreciated NSAMB CEO, G Ikuto Zhimomi under whose leadership the board has come up to viable marketing service in the state.
In regard to APLM Act 2020 rules, director of agriculture, Ben Yanthan informed that it was under active process and at final stage which would accordingly be placed before the state assembly.
At the meeting, NSAMB CEO gave agenda wise presentation while other board members shared suggestions and views in respect of ongoing agricultural marketing scenario in the state.
