NSCN (Akato) condemns killing of member

Akato-led NSCN has condemned the killing of its member allegedly by NSCN (IM) at Lapalampong village under Tizit Area.
The group through its MIP stated that it was “completely appalled by the cowardly act” where four of its active members including three “civil officials and one Naga Army” were abducted, tortured and “one was mercilessly beaten and butchered to death by the NSCN (IM).”

According to MIP, the victim was the incumbent chairman late Temzei Konyak (deputy kilonser) and the whereabouts of other three others—Honchai Konyak (Tatar), Talem Konyak (Leacy) and “captain” Wanglem Konyak—was still unknown.

MIP said the incident occurred when the late chairman with some of his staff were on their way to meet KU members. “This outrageous and disparaging act that had cost precious lives is a direct challenge towards the integrity of the NSCN,” MIP stated.
The group said it was trying very hard to uphold the resolution passed by the ENPO, KU and other CSOs asking all NPGs to avoid factional clashes.

MIP asked the ENPO, KU and other CSOs that it was now in their prerogative as to “what measures would be initiated against the defaulting NSCN (IM) for blatantly and wilfully defiling the resolution and choosing to abruptly and incongruously insult the good faith of the CSOs with diabolic intent to satiating their thirst with the blood of other fellow Nagas”.

Akato-led NSCN affirmed that it would do whatever necessary “to defend our integrity, while upholding the desire of the people as the topmost priority.”
It, however, asked the Naga people and the CSOs to “clearly understand that though the NSCN will never spill the first blood, yet in the event of any threats, intimidation or unprovoked attacks, the NSCN as an armed organisations well resourced and copiously equipped and will accept no quarter but go to any extent to retaliate and thwart any sinister intent perpetrated by adversaries and outside forces.”

The group cautioned that any such misdemeanour and misadventure perpetuated by any forces in trying to test its strength would “eventually be met with head-on collision, backed by unfathomable and aggressive stance for restitution and redressal, at any cost.”

NSCN (Khango) condemns: Khango-led NSCN also condemned what it described as “barbaric act of NSCN (IM)”. MIP stated that the “crime committed by the NSCN (IM)” was totally ‘unacceptable and unjustifiable’ under any circumstances when the Nagas were yearning for peace and reconciliation among various section of the Naga society and political groups.
NSCN (Khango) sought to “advise and suggest” the NSCN (I-M) to refrain from “such act of violence which is detrimental towards peace and unity in the region.”

Along with the Naga people, the group said it was “conscientiously looking forward to maintaining peace and order in the society and pursuing for peaceful co-existence”, adding that “such offensive and vexed activities” of the NSCN (I-M) towards their own blood brethren was uncalled for and “deserves to be condemned by every right thinking citizen of Nagas.”
