NSCN condemns drone strike in Langkho

DIMAPUR: NSCN/GPRN Provisional Government has condemned the alleged drone strike by the Indian Army on Langkho village in Eastern Nagalim in the early hours of October 3, claiming that two civilians, including a minor girl, were wounded and properties destroyed.
In a statement, NSCN/GPRN alleged that the incident constituted a violation of international law and an act of aggression against civilians.
It alleged that the incident was part of a sustained pattern of military repression against the Naga homeland since the 1950s, and criticised the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, alleging that it had shielded Indian forces from accountability for human rights abuses.
NSCN/GPRN also questioned India’s aspiration for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, alleging that its actions in Nagalim contradicted the principles it professed internationally.
It said that if India denied responsibility for the Langkho drone strike, it should raise no objection to an impartial international investigation.
NSCN/GPRN called upon the international community to institute an independent inquiry into the alleged drone strike and hold those responsible accountable. It also called upon citizens of Nagalim to remain vigilant and assert their rights.
