NSCN/GPRN (K) issues clarification

Khango-led NSCN/GPRN (K) has clarified and made it known to all that Yangtsase Sangtam had proclaimed himself as kilonser during the split of Khango-Isak in January 2023.But, after scrutiny by the government, he was inducted as tatar and not kilonser. Reacting to news reports of GPRN/NSCN welcoming home comers, NSCN/GPRN (K) MIP stated that Pili Sangtam, Khapur, was indeed a member of the group, but he had been absconding from his duty for long time. The group said people like Yangtsase and Pili leaving its fold were indeed a blessing in disguise as they could do nothing fruitful and beneficial for the government.

Stating that Kitoholi Katti, Y Lipla Sangtam and Tsachomong Sangtam were neither enrolled, nor appointed as members of NSCN/GPRN (K), the MIP said it seriously viewed and questioned the dragging of the group’s name without properly ascertaining the facts. According to the NSCN/GPRN (K), ‘capt.’ Atsase Sangtam defected to NSCN/GPRN (Angmai) on June 20, 2023 after the default leave, while ‘corpl.’ Yokyuse Sangtam was absconding from its Ceasefire Supervisory Board office since April 6 this year without any valid reason. Hence, the group said that the cadres were not its members, and they claiming to be from the NSCN (Khango) were unacceptable under any circumstances.
