NSCN/GPRN (Khango) conveys solidarity with ENPO demand

NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has announced solidarity with the legitimate and feasible demands of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) to boost economic and holistic development of the area.
Taking serious note of a report in a local daily by a Delhi-based journalist, the MIP in a communiqué maintained that the content in the ‘Charter of Demands’ should not in any way or form infringe or encumber the paramount interest of the Nagas and the Naga political issue.
MIP pointed out that its president ‘lt. gen.’ (Retd) Khango Konyak had already conveyed the stand at Wangkhao College, Mon, in 2011 when a conglomerate of leaders met under the aegis of ENPO to formulate the Charter of Demands.
He had explicitly stated “The government would not interfere or exert undue influence in the formulation of demands. However, the content in the ‘Charter of Demands’ should not in anyway, suppress, or hijack the legitimacy of the inherent Naga political issue, and there should be a fine demarcation between the two paramount issues.”
It further advised the brothers and sisters of ENPO not to succumb to the “carrot and stick” tactics of the Central government.
In the event that speculated demands of laying down of arms by national political workers in ENPO region by Centre were complied with by the ENPO, NSCN (Khango) ato kilonser Hokato Vusshe cautioned that such an act would have an irrevocable and far-reaching consequence, and would be considered a treacherous betrayal to the Nagas.
He said the government in retaliation would explore other means of exposure and that the responsible leaders would be held accountable for the unfavourable aftermath.
