NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe) celebrates Naga R-Day

The 46th Naga Republic Day of NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe) was celebrated on March 21, 2025 at CFSB office premises with Viniho Kiho, ‘Kilo Kilonser’, NSCN/GPRN as chief guest.

In a press release, MIP of the group informed that the presidential address was read out by chief guest followed by presentation to the dignitaries by the organizing committee, obituary report and rank declaration of the Naga Army by ‘ministry of Keeya Affairs’.

In his speech Hokato Vusshe, ‘Ato Kilonser’ NSCN/GPRN, expressed concern on the presence of numerous Naga political groups and said it was an opportune moment for the Naga populace to segregate the groups that are really fighting for the cause of the Nagas and keeping the flame of freedom alive.

He said Nagas have always been a free people since time immemorial and are not besieging the Government of India for a separate entity but the demand was that inherent rights of the Nagas be recognised and for a free sovereign nation.

He said the stand of NSCN was “plain and clear” and no matter what it will never compromise its ideology and principle pointing out that the political vision was based on the will of the people.

He pointed out that NSCN will have a political dialogue with the government of India with their own set of competencies and charter of demands considering the realities of the present situation while avoiding unrealistic and idealistic approach.

Pointing out that Nagas have suffered enough and the aspiration to self-determine “our own course is long delayed”, he said at this “stage any political negotiations meant for the Nagas have to be laid naked before its people and publicly discussed and deliberated by all the stakeholders before finalization of any political settlement on the Naga issue”.

He criticized Government of India and the State government of playing hide and seek with the Naga Political Issue and said it was only aggravating the situation and the NSCN will never forgive those misleading the Nagas at this crucial juncture.

Further, NSCN urged all the different political groups, civil society organizations and the entire Naga people to keep the personal agendas aside and work cohesively for the broader benefits of the Nagas.

“Let us all rededicate our lives for the cause of the Nation with Selfless service and stand firm in our commitment”, Hokato said.
