NSCN/GPRN Phom region clarifies on defection

The NSCN/GPRN Phom region issued a rejoinder to a press statement released on March 6 by the Naga National Council/FGN under the leadership of Brigadier (Retd) S. Shingnya, concerning the alleged defection of Khamba Phom.
The NSCN/GPRN Phom region clarified that while Khamba Phom had reportedly joined their faction last year, during his observation period, he returned to his former faction, the NNC/FGN, without receiving any orders or assignments.
According to a press release by deputy kilonser, caretaker CAO NSCN/GPRN Phom region, Longshen Leinak, the group stated that this movement had no effect on their strength or operations, asserting that the NSCN/GPRN Phom region remains strong and cohesive despite the incident.
The statement emphasized that the homecomer’s return to his previous faction did not weaken the organisation in any way, reaffirming the continued stability of the NSCN/GPRN Phom region.
