NSCN (I-M) through its MIP Monday said that as per the directive of the Kilo Kilonser the sale of all types of firecrackers in and around Dimapur has been banned with immediate effect during this festive season.
MIP stated that ban was imposed after taking serious note of the nuisance the firecrackers create and the harmful effects of firecrackers, especially for heart patients.
Stating that firecracker was “never a part of our culture”, NSCN (I-M) warned anyone found selling or transporting such items would be strictly dealt with.
Further, in view of the festive season, NSCN (I-M) has temporarily lifted the ban on opening of shops on Sunday on the request of the public for shopping convenience.
