NSCN (I-M) condemns

NSCN (I-M) has Tuesday condemned the “fabricated charges” leveled against Kuhang Songthing, a civilian from Longpha village, Changlang district, by the Indian Army.  Songthing was branded as an “active self-styled private and Raju Peyu of the NSCN (I-M) and subsequently arrested him 25/01/2018 on such a false allegation,” stated NSCN(I-M) in a statement issued by its MIP.
While stating that there was no such individual enrolled or appointed as a Private or Raju Peyu in the army or civil set-up of the government, it stated, “the GPRN belittles the Indian Army for its total ignorance on the difference between a ‘private’ rank soldier of the Naga Army and a Raju Peyu of the civil set-up of the government, despite the Indian Army’s forced occupation of the Naga country for the last seven decades.”
Stating that such malicious accusation was a desperate attempt of the Assam Rifles to malign the image of the NSCN, it cautioned the Assam Rifles to restrain its personnel from picking up any Naga randomly on mere suspicion.
