NSCN (IM) has expressed shock at the demise of late Puni Modoli who passed away after undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi.In a condolence message, NSCN (I-M) said that late Puni Modoli was in banking profession earlier but his inclination to serve Naga people in Manipur led to his resignation as general manager, SBI. NSCN (I-M) said that he became the president of United Naga Council (UNC) and that he was a Naga social activist who was zealous in offering his service to the Nagas. NSCN (I-M) said that Puni Modoli’s deep interest and contribution towards the Naga political movement was reflected in his philosophical thought and writings and Nagas had lost a patriotic leader who left his footprints for posterity. Further, NSCN (I-M) conveyed condolences and prayers to the bereaved family members and for his soul to rest in peace.
