NSCN (I-M) CR concerned over poor road works

NSCN (-M) Chakhesang region CAO has expressed concern over the “low grade road” work within Chakhesang area and urged the concern authority to probe into mater within four months.
In a statement, CAO Chakhesang Region (CR) tatar Vezokha Hoshi while pointing irregularities of various road projects, cautioned that it would “not spare the erring contractors/department official” involve in fraudulent drawal of money by not checking the quality work. CR alleged that the “concerned authority under Pfutsero sub-division and Phek sub-division, engineers, SDO” failed to verify the workmanship quality as per the content of the contract agreement. CR also pointed out that the village council had issued NOC without checking the workmanship of the road work within their jurisdiction. On Chizami to Thetsumi road under MP quota, CR alleged that the concerned contractor had allegedly withdrawn money twice even as the road construction was below substandard. However, CR said the PWD department had released money without proper checking of workmanship.
With regard to the two-lane work Kohima to Phek, CR has asked the contractor to expedite the work. It said that failing to complete the work within the stipulated period, the CR would be compelled to lodge complaint against them.
CR further said that the region would check and verify the road work of Chozuba to Phek, Chizami to Liasurafi and also the Kohima-Zunheboto road crossing Chakhesang area.
On Vizwema, Zuketsa to Pfutsero work, CR said that though the bill had already been drawn, the road condition was found to be very pathetic, rather incomplete. It further expressed surprise to note that the Losami to Losatephe which black-top road has become unpliable within four months. While questioning as to who was to be blamed– the contractor, department, CR also demanded to know why the money/bill was released without proper checking of workmanship.
Taking note of all the irregularities, CR said that the license/registration of the concerned contractor should also be cancelled.
