With the dawn of New Year, the NSCN (I-M) collective leadership called upon the people to reflect on the past year and define “who we are for the Nagas.” In a New Year message, NSCN (I-M) yaruiwo Q. Tuccu said: “Let us not be afraid to start a new chapter and set a golden milestone to mark the beginning of our march towards Naga political solution.”
He called upon the people to honor the great leaders who have shown us the way forward and to honor the spirits of hundreds of thousands of Naga martyrs who have inspired to carry on the struggle. “Let us humbly acknowledge that our struggle is based on God given right and we must have the courage to run the course pleasing before His sight,” he added. He said that nothing will be more sensible for the Nagas than to “humble ourselves before God to let Him take the lead to take the Nagas to the path of reconciliation.”
For this, he said the people need God’s hands to make us understand that unity is the only way forward.
Tuccu, therefore, called upon all “to live up to our slogan– Nagaland for Christ” and to remember that it was this slogan that has been the guiding light throughout the seven decades of struggle.
He said that it was is high time now that “we reconcile with our Almighty God and boldly go for Naga reconciliation”, which is more sagacious and appreciable to take forward for the final Naga solution. Tuccu maintained that the collective leadership was of the conviction that “no solution will be honorable in the absence of God because we are His chosen people.”
