Chonthingla Shimray, wife of NSCN (I-M) Longvibu (chief of Naga Army) ‘Gen.’ Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, passed away on Tuesday.
Chonthingla, who held the position of kilonser (minister) in the NSCN (I-M), was honoured with a state funeral service at their residence in Diphupar.
Leaders, well-wishers, and members of the NSCN (I-M) community gathered to pay their respects and extend condolences to the bereaved family.
Th. Muivah, NH, KUM mourn: NSCN (I-M) ato kilonser Th. Muivah, Naga Hoho (NH) and Konyak Union-Myanmar (KUM) have condoled the demise of Chonthingla Shimray, wife of Longvibu Naga Army “Gen.” Ningkhan Shimray.
In a condolence message, Th. Muivah described Mrs. Shimray as a remarkable individual, a beacon of strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication, who lived a life of extraordinary purpose, devoting herself to every task and cause with unmatched zeal and sincerity after joining the national service on April 1, 1981.
He also said that late Mrs. Shimray was like a daughter, who held a special place in his heart and carried out her duties both at home and aboard with grace, leaving behind a legacy of service and sacrifice that will forever be honoured.
The ato kilonser, on behalf of the nation, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty grant them strength to overcome the irreplaceable loss and also prayed for the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Naga Hoho: Condoling the demise of Chonthingla Shimray, Naga Hoho (NH) said late Chonthingla lived a dignified life and was a God’s fearing women.
The hoho president, Sulanthung Lotha conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed soul in eternal peace.
Konyak Union Myanmar: Konyak Union (Myanmar) expressed shock over the demise of Chonthingla Shimray.
In a condolence note, KUM general secretary, K Akham Honwang, on behalf of the Eastern Konyak public, said that they would uphold “Gen.” Ningkhan Shimray, chief of Naga Army and also peace supervisor for Eastern Konyak area, in their prayer during the mourning period. The union also prayed that Almighty God strengthen them to overcome the loss and the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
