NSCN (I-M) Lotha region appeals LH to withdraw PIL

NSCN (I-M) Lotha region workers have appealed to the Lotha Hoho to withdraw PIL filed against the contractors of Wokha-Merapani Road (M/s. Infra CS) and instead seek the “desired solution from outside the legal courts through mutual understanding and settlement.”

In a letter addressed to LH chairman, the Lotha region workers said the decision was taken at an emergency meeting held on September 27, 2019 in Wokha.

The letter maintained that legal procedure should be avoided since it would be counter productive and in which the end-losers would be the Lotha public.

The letter also acknowledged the serious efforts made by LH was good and that people also had the same desire.

The Lotha region workers, said withdrawal of PIL became necessary to let the ongoing works continue peacefully and without hindrances.

Further, the letter said the non-cooperative attitude of the contractors in the matter was duly noted as they(contractors) failed to respond to its letter dated August 17, 2019. The Lotha region workers said the letter was “merely” aimed at making mutual settlement a possibility.

The letter however said that due to urgent necessity for a good road, the region authority and workers had resolved to extend all possible cooperation towards the LH and its frontal organizations and to the road contractors.
