NSCN (I-M), Naga National Council (Parent Body) and Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) have extended Christmas and New Year greetings to the citizens of the state. In a press release, MIP of NSCN (I-M) said that Nagas have a challenging year in search of a meaningful season that reflects political solution that brings peace, prosperity and happiness, and every moment to cherish with love and indelible memories of the journey.
NSCN (I-M) wished everyone peace and hope and a New Year will bring “better days and possibilities as we continue to build our trust in God for the fulfillment of our never fading aspirations”.
NNC (PB): Extending Christmas and New Year to the people of the state, the Naga National Council (Parent Body) under leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V. Nagi expressed concern on the deteriorating political situation in the Homeland.
In a press release, Information & Publicity Wing of Naga National Council (PB) said it was saddened to see the incidents of violence and killings taking place with the festive season right around the corner, which was meant to be a time of peace and joy.
The group strongly condemned the killings and appealed to the all concerned people and groups to shun violence and let peace and unity prevail in the “Homeland for the best interest of our people and our freedom”.
Further, NNC (PB) said that it will always stand for peace and National unity, upholding the interest of the entire people in the region.
NSF: Extending greetings, NSF said Christmas and New Year marked moments of reflection, love, and unity.
The federation wished that the season brings profound meaning into the lives, fosters renewed hope in the Naga homeland, and becomes a time of reconciliation and joy for all. “May the season bring fresh meaning into our lives and renewed hope to the Naga homeland as families reunite, broken relationships are mended, and people from all walks of life come together to rejoice in the birth of the Prince of Peace.”
Meanwhile, NSF has announced that its office will remain closed from December 21, 2023, to January 10, 2024.
However, NSF informed that during the period, individuals or groups seeking information can reach out to the federation via email at nagastudents1947@gmail.com. It also encouraged the public to stay connected through its official Facebook page for updates and announcements.
