DIMAPUR, JUN 18 (NPN): A day after NSCN (I-M) Eastern Flank accused Hebron leadership of abandoning the Framework Agreement’s core objectives by accepting what it termed a “compromised and surrendered position” on Naga political issue, NSCN (I-M) reiterated its commitment to the Naga political movement and the 2015 Indo-Naga Framework Agreement following a joint council meeting held at its Council Headquarters, Hebron.
In a press statement, MIP informed that the joint council deliberated on issues confronting the Naga national movement and adopted a series of resolutions.
The council explicitly declared that NSCN/GPRN, under the collective leadership of Yaruiwo Q. Tuccu, Kedalo Tongmeth Wangnao, ato kilonser Th. Muivah and deputy ato kilonser ‘lt. gen.’ (Retd.) V.S. Atem, had never surrendered and would not compromise or surrender what it termed the “sacred Naga national cause”. It also endorsed the collective leadership in guiding the NSCN/GPRN and leading the Nagas in their movement for self-determination.
Further, the council reaffirmed its commitment to protect, defend and uphold the historic Indo-Naga Framework Agreement, describing it as the foundational basis for an honourable political settlement. NSCN (I-M) called upon all Naga citizens, regional authorities and sympathizers of the Naga cause to remain united behind the collective leadership during this defining hour of history.
