NSCN-K (YA) condemns ‘drone strikes’

The NSCN-K (Yung Aung) has accused the Indian forces of carrying out multiple drone strikes at two locations in Eastern Nagaland targeting ULFA (I) and its camps in Hoyat and Pangsau areas between 2 and 4 am on July 13, which killed senior ULFA (I) leaders including ‘lt gen’ Nayan Asom, a staunch Western Southeast Asia (Wesean) revolutionary leader.
Expressing shock at the tragic death of fellow ULFA (I) comrade ‘lt gen’ Nayan Asom, the NSCN-K (YA) in a statement said Nayan Asom was among the most committed and finest revolutionary leaders the ULFA (I) had ever produced, who dedicated his entire life in pursuit of freedom for his people.
The group said his unwavering commitment and selfless sacrifice would remain a source of inspiration not only for the people of Assam but also for all the oppressed Wesean nations.
Strongly condemning the drone attack, the group paid its deep homage to all the brave fallen leaders and injured comrades, besides extending its deepest condolences and solidarity to the ULFA (I), and joined the latter in its grief and loss on this tragic day.
NSCN/GPRN alleged that the Government of India had in the past few months intensified brutalities on its cadres as well, with killings and military assaults persisting unabated.
According to the group, if India thought that it could wage an unjust war through the power of its sophisticated weapons and technological advantage, and maintain hegemony over the Wesean region, it was greatly mistaken. The group said it simply proved the country’s weakness and imperialistic mentality, and not her strength.
Asserting that India’s “ruthless campaign and savage tactics” would never break the spirit of the NSCN/GPRN or the ULFA (I), the group said it remained resolute in its fight against the country’s oppression to the last man standing.
“Our struggle is based on truth and justice. Every drop of blood will continue to speak the truth and it will be a proof that brutal oppression and genocide still exist even in the 21st century,” the statement added.
Even though the price was high, the group reiterated that it would fight and resist for history, land and dignity, maintaining that the victory of the Wesean people was inevitable and justice would be served.
