Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) has dismissed the Assam Rifles claim of busting its “extortion module” and apprehending three of its cadres on June 27 and June 28.
In a press release, NSCN (K)’s ‘brigadier’ Akaho Zhimo stated that the “insane desire of Indian armed forces” to apprehend its genuine members has “brought about all alleged criminals” being named as its members.
Zhimo said Assam Rifles seemed to have appointed him as the “finance kilonser” since he was not the finance kilonser. Zhimo also said that the three alleged persons held along with the arms were not connected or affiliated to him or the group in any way whatsoever.
Meanwhile, NSCN (K) has warned that “those guilty of impersonations or misinformation of National workers will surely attract punitive military action as per the provisions of the law.”
