NSCN-K (YA) warns against impersonators in Kohima

NSCN-K (Yung Aung) has cautioned the public and government departments against individuals allegedly impersonating members of the outfit to extort money in Kohima district.
In a press note, MIP said it had uncovered instances of “unscrupulous individuals” posing as NSCN/GPRN members and attempting to collect money from government offices and business establishments.
Reiterating its “zero-tolerance policy” against impersonation, fraud and exploitation, the group said it conducts financial matters only through proper and verified channels and does not engage in any backdoor arrangements.
NSCN-K (YA) clarified that it has not authorised or entrusted any individual or group to collect funds in Kohima so far. It urged heads of departments, private businesses and the general public not to entertain any such demands made in its name unless officially notified.
It further stated that any financial transactions or agreements carried out in its name in Kohima district without official authorisation would be considered invalid.
It appealed to all concerned to remain vigilant and cooperate in preventing such fraudulent activities.
