NSCN-K (Khango) has opposed the decision of the Centre to fence the India-Myanmar border area and to do away with the Free Movement Regime, alleging that the Centre wanted to further divide the Naga communities. In a statement, NSCN (Khango) said the move would not only segregate the Nagas but potentially undermine the protections afforded by Article 371A, as it pertains to the land and its ownership. “The Govt. of India’s plan to instigate border fencing along the Naga-Myanmar border reflect the insidious attempt to further divide Naga communities…”
