NSCN/PG seeks UN intervention over alleged drone strike

DIMAPUR, OCT 24 (NPN): NSCN Provisional Government, while condemning the alleged drone strike on Mt. Horeb by the Indian Army on October 11, has appealed to the international community and the United Nations to take note of what it described as state-sponsored terrorism and human rights violations in Nagalim.
In a statement, MIP of the group alleged that the objective of the strike was to eliminate the “sons and daughters of the soil” who had remained steadfast in their pursuit of the sovereignty of Nagalim. However, it maintained that the incident would not weaken its resolve and reaffirmed its commitment to the Naga sacred cause.
The group further accused government of India of occupying Nagalim and violating international law and human rights. Questioning India’s candidature for permanent membership of the UN Security Council, it argued that a country accused of disregarding international law and human rights standards should not be considered for such a position.
It appealed to the international community and the United Nations to give serious attention to the situation in Nagalim and called upon Naga citizens to remain united, resolute and committed to their rights.
