NSCN (R) has appealed to all Naga Political Groups (NPG) and stake holders to lend their support to the ongoing Naga talks saying “it is time to reform our self, reform our future, reform our society and our community”.
In a press note, NSCN (R) MIP secretary said that though the talks have been led by one of the Naga faction, “but ultimately, if it is for the good of the Nagas, it is our duty and responsibility to lend our support”.
MIP appealed to all NPGs, national workers, intellectuals, Churches, NGOs and all concerned Naga citizen to work closely and in unison to achieve the desired goal.
Rather than criticizing, MIP said “it is our duty and responsibility to understand them and their situation”.
MIP said Nagas need must show more maturity while dealing with the Indo-Naga issue and come out of tribalism or clanism.
While admitting that the political movement for self-determination has come a long way, conceptualized by some of the Naga pioneers, MIP said it had not spared a single Naga family including the politician, bureaucrats, intellectuals, churches, common man and even the children of all ages.
“This movement has affected the life of every Naga men and women alike. That’ how it is different; it is connected and related to all Naga souls”, it added.
After so many years of bloodshed, struggle, pain, tears and arguments, MIP said that the talks of peace have once again resonated in our backyard. “It is an opportunity to bring back smiles into the faces of all affected Naga people. It is an opportunity to thank God. Naga people should not miss this opportunity”, the MIP asserted.
Quoting Abraham Lincoln, MIP said “a house divided against itself cannot stand”. It said that the people should not wait for the day when the agreement would be finally signed only to condemn or criticize it immediately the next day. In this regard, MIP appealed all to be a part of the process and contribute in order to make it more meaningful and successful.
It also appreciated the courage shown by both GoI and the NSCN, to bring an early settlement to the long pending Indo-Naga issue by going ahead with the signing of the framework agreement to enter into a new relationship.
MIP said that sincerity of GoI was highly laudable as the PMO was directly overseeing and handling the Naga issue unlike before.
Stating that the Naga issue was unique and needed a solution that should be unique, MIP said interlocutor for Naga talks and JIC chairman R.N. Ravi was not only well versed on the Naga issue but also equally sincere and serious to find out an amicable solution.
