NSCN (R) reacts to September 12 incident

NSCN (R) said it was appalled and dismayed by an unfortunate incident that took place at Tuli on September 12, wherein some “incognitos masquerading as NSCN (R) and demanding tax were chased and nabbed by the Tuli Town Ward,” which also went viral on social media.

In a press note, NSCN (R) through its MIP claimed that “the imposters namely Imtiangshi, s/o lt. Temjenmenba, Imtisunep s/o lt. Shiluinba, Merenkaba s/o Chubamayang all from Kangtsung village and Hempen Phom s/o Chingba Phom of Anaki village, were in no way members, or connected to NSCN(R) whatsoever.”

While not condoning the menace of rampant taxation, NSCN (R) said it extended solidarity to this issue, especially imposters, fraudsters and pseudo nationalists whose actions were adding more miseries to this prevailing issue.

Further, NSCN (R) also said it was perplexed and frustrated as to how some responsible individuals/groups/union could haphazardly jump to conclusion and give bombastic declarations, without asserting facts or figures and proof or evidence and circulate in social media, which was very unbecoming of a matured person(s) or organisations.

While pointing out that huge damage was done upon the organization, NSCN (R) however said that to at least mitigate or undo some afflictions done, it suggested those responsible(s) to immediately retract, apologise and clarify the same to every media or outlets on the misleading information that was circulated.

NSCN (R) also warned “all those opportunists and imposters to immediately desist from such acts in future or face action…”

It reminded all that NSCN(R) stood by its “May 24 (2021) declaration, in all leading newspapers and publications houses, giving a ‘Clarion Call’ to all cadres not to harass, intimidate or seek financial assistances from any quarters, during these ‘dire straits’ times but rather give some room to breathe, while everyone was recuperating from the pandemic attack.”
