
Vice president of NSCN (R), Akato Chophy on Saturday visited the grave of ‘gen’ P Thsamphu Yimchungrü, a pioneer Naga nationalist and first commander in chief of Safeguard Free Area (1955), at New Showuba (Loyir) village, Dimapur.
Paying homage to the departed Naga freedom fighter, the NSCN (R) vice president described late gen Thsamphu as an “unsung hero” who gave his all for the cause of the Nagas. Akato said it was the bounden duty of every Naga, irrespective of tribe or faction, to salute and pay respects to true Naga patriots.
He also appealed for Naga unity and said Nagas should not differentiate or discriminate between each other due to artificial and man-made boundaries.
The NSCN (R) vice president also shared some words of comfort with the window of late Thsamphu.
