NSCN (Reformation) observed its foundation day at Penhang designated camp on May 18, 2024. In a press note, the MIP said that the observation of the auspicious day comes in the wake of the formation of the group during the most turbulent times, way back in the year 2015 when there was an exodus of bloodsheds and killings taking atoll its peak.
MIP said that it was during this hostile period, the NSCN/Reformation was formed which faced stiff resistance and encountered numerous attacks from various warring parties and the Government of India to destabilise and undermine its growth.
Despite these challenges, MIP emphasized that the grace of the Almighty sustained the NSCN (Reformation) through numerous adversities. This resilience eventually led to an understanding between the Government of India and the hostile entities, culminating in the signing of a ceasefire agreement, it said.
“Today as we introspect the repercussions and precarious journey of our past we are made to understand that bloodshed was not the panacea in achieving our desired milestone of the Nagas into a sovereign Nation,” it said, adding that the only translucent objective for achieving their ultimate goal was only through cohesion and expediting their achievable solution by honouring and respecting the sentiments of the Nagas irrespective of the demography and artificial boundaries.
