DIMAPUR, SEP 29 (NPN): Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) has claimed that its combined tactical team with the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) carried out a joint military action against 21 Assam Rifles near Nampong in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh at around 6:30 a.m. on September 29.
In a statement issued through its MIP, NSCN (YA) claimed that one Assam Rifles personnel was killed and several others critically injured during the engagement. It also claimed that one AK assault rifle was recovered from the site.
The group said the action was carried out in accordance with its “understanding and commitment to unite against foreign occupational forces and defend our sovereignty”.
It expressed gratitude to its members for what it described as their courage, unity, discipline and tactical proficiency, and maintained that the “Wesean People” remained united and determined in their struggle. The group said it would continue to defend its land, people and freedom against what it described as oppressive forces.
