DIMAPUR, AUG 21 (NPN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has forecast active monsoon conditions across the state, with light to moderate rain, localized thunderstorms and lightning expected from August 22-25.
On August 22, rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Dimapur, Longleng and Mokokchung, while scattered rain and localized thunderstorms are expected in Chümoukedima, Kohima, Peren and Tseminyu. Light rain may occur in several other districts.
On August 23, scattered light to moderate rain is expected over Longleng and Tuensang, with thunderstorms and lightning likely over Kohima and Tseminyu. Other districts may also receive light rain.
Similar conditions are forecast on August 24, with thunderstorms and light to moderate rain likely over Longleng, Mon, Peren and Tuensang. Kohima, Phek and Tseminyu may experience thunderstorms and light rain, while localized thunderstorms are possible in Noklak and Shamator.
On August 25, thunderstorms and rain are expected over Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang and Zunheboto. Light rain may occur in several other districts, while no active weather warnings are indicated for Noklak, Shamator and Tseminyu.
The highest cumulative rainfall for August 21-25 is forecast in Mokokchung at 102.51 mm, followed by Longleng (100.59 mm), Mon (93.58 mm), Tuensang (83.84 mm), Wokha (82.59 mm), Tseminyu (78.35 mm) and Peren (71.06 mm).
