NSDMA hands over hearse to NHAK

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department on Friday handed over a well equipped hearse vehicle to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) for the purpose of disposing dead bodies during the pandemic and for other necessary usage.

A press release by NSDMA stated that the hearse vehicle equipped with a freezer box and back up inverter for single body was handed over to the principal director, Department of Health & Family Welfare by advisor NSDMA, Kazheto Kinimi at the state emergency operation centre (SEOC) NSDMA, Home Department.

While handing over the vehicle, the advisor dedicated the vehicle to NHAK for the service of the people of Nagaland. Ahead of the handing over, principal secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha briefed that the Executive Committee of Chief Secretary Special Welfare Fund (CSSWF) during its meeting held on December 10 discussed about the need of a hearse vehicle in Nagaland and basing on the requirements handed responsibility to NSDMA for purchasing and installation of necessary equipment in the vehicle.

OSD to the government of Nagaland, Johnny Ruangmei, who chaired the programme also briefed on guidelines for operating the vehicle while principal director, department of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie thanked the government.
