NSDMA to conduct 8th edition of NEPEx on April 30

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, will conduct the 8th edition of the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) on April 30, 2026, to enhance the state’s capacity in responding to earthquake and extreme weather disasters.
According to an official memorandum issued by the Chief Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen, the exercise is being organised with support from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
As part of the preparatory activities, a virtual capacity building programme will be held on April 22, followed by a Table Top Exercise on April 29 at the State Emergency Operation Centre, Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. All AHODs, nodal officers for disaster management, and DDMAs have been requested to participate.
The memorandum stated that the timing and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the April 30 exercise will be shared during the Table Top session. Departments and agencies have been directed to ensure active participation and coordination.
