The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has announced “The Naga Morung” event, set to take place on August 14 at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima. The program will commence at 10:00 am.
NSF president Medovi Rhi and general secretary, Kenilo Kent through a press statement have extended invitation to all Nagas to participate in the gathering.
The federation stated that historically, the Naga Morung was the cornerstone of Naga society, serving as a vital institution where young Nagas learned the customs, traditions, and history of their people. In recent times, however, the decline of this tradition has created generational gaps in understanding the historical and political heritage of Naga people.
To bridge this divide, the NSF has organized “The Naga Morung” on the theme “Kuknalim,” meaning “Victory to the People and Land.” This event aims to instil dignity in young Nagas by educating them about Naga history and fostering a renewed sense of identity and purpose.
