The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the snatching of a vehicle belonging to Lamkang Students’ Union president by three persons at gunpoint in Manipur’s Kakching district on December 31, 2023.
In a statement, NSF president Medovi Rhi and general secretary Chumben Khuvung alleged that the incident took place around 11 am on December 31, which endangered not only the victim’s life but also instilled fear in the society.
NSF said that the act of violence and disregard for well-being of the citizens was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
Extending heartfelt sympathy to the victim and his family members for having to endure a traumatic experience, NSF asserted that the federation was committed to support them during their difficult times and ensuring that justice was served.
They urged the law enforcement agencies to expedite the case and employ all available resources to identify and apprehend the perpetrators swiftly.
They also encouraged community members to come forward with any information that might assist in the investigation, while reiterating that the NSF remained steadfast in its commitment to fostering a safe environment where everyone could live, work and thrive without fear.
They said they firmly believed in the importance of maintaining safe and secure environment for all residents, noting that the incident served as reminder of the need for increased vigilance and collaborative efforts to combat such heinous acts.
