Naga Students Federation (NSF) on Friday felicitated the toppers of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2024 conducted by Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) at a programme held at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima.
46 HSLC toppers and 22 HSSLC toppers including 2 HSSLC (Manipur) were felicitated.
The programme was graced by advisor of School Education and SCERT, Kekhrielhoulie Yhome. Yhome in his speech, reminded the students that success does not come easily and what made them different was their uniqueness.
He said everyone wanted to achieve something but for that they have to work hard and identify their areas of talent. Yhome said this year marked the centennial year, when the education was first introduced to Nagas, but Nagas still lacked behind as compared with other states. He was however, hopeful that students with their hard work and determination will excel in their respective fields to be at par with the others.
Yhome also expressed grave concern on the large number of school dropout rate in the state and said that the issue may be due to some external factors. He was optimistic that with strong foundation, the issue could be solved.
UPSC (Rank 431) Tolino Chishi, shared her success story and encouraged the students to set their goals with will power and determination to achieve their goals. She also cautioned against the misuse of electronic gadgets and reminded the students, how proper use of technology helped her in her preparation for UPSC.
Mhachilo Yanthan, topper of HSCL delivered speech on behalf of the toppers. Delivering presidential address, NSF president, Medovi Rhi, reminded the students that success was not a destination, but a journey that requires continuous effort and a willingness to embrace change.
He encouraged the students to embrace the challenges as opportunities to learn, grow, and become stronger as each obstacle they overcome will shape them into a more capable and resilient individual.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Asosii Pfokreni Dominic, special prayer was offered by Khekavi K. Yeptho and words of gratitude by Kenilo Kent. Meanwhile, NSF executives had requested the absentees to collect their certificate from their office anytime.
