Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the killing of two Naga civilians at TM-Kasom village along NH-202 in Ukhrul on April 18.
In a press release, NSF president Mteisuding and general secretary Kenilo Kent announced that a candlelight vigil will be held at NSF Oking, Kohima on April 23, 2026 at 6:30 pm in solidarity with resolutions adopted by various Naga civil bodies.
NSF said the vigil aims to honour the departed souls and reaffirm the collective commitment to justice. NSF described the cold-blooded killing of unarmed civilians as a grave assault on the dignity, safety, and inherent rights of the Naga people, terming it a direct existential threat to the community in their own homeland.
NSF conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and expressed full solidarity with them during this hour of grief and injustice. It demanded that the responsible authorities initiate immediate, impartial, and stringent action against the perpetrators.
It warned that any failure or delay in delivering justice would be viewed as a grave abdication of responsibility.
Further, NSF issued a stern warning that any form of aggression, intimidation, or violence against the Naga people would not be tolerated. NSF said patience of the Naga people must not be mistaken for weakness, adding that any recurrence of such acts would invite a strong and resolute response from the federation and the Naga public at large. NSF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defend the collective interest and rights of the Naga people.
