NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025 progresses into final stages

KOHIMA, OCT 5 (NPN)

The 25th Anniversary Edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025, which officially kicked off on September 13, has now entered its decisive phase after completing 29 matches across two venues, Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima and the Chümoukedima Football Stadium.
What began as a modest initiative 25 years ago has grown into one of Nagaland’s most prestigious football tournaments, continuing to draw huge crowds and passionate participation from teams across the state.
As of now, the tournament has produced several exciting encounters, recording a total of 174 goals, averaging six goals per match.
A total of 58 yellow cards and 10 red cards have been issued so far, reflecting the intense level of competition. The current highest goal scorer is Thokchom Adison Singh (17) of Mez & Co., who has netted an impressive 10 goals.
With 29 teams, comprising 696 players and officials, already eliminated, the competition is narrowing down as teams battle for a place in the coveted final. The remaining fixtures will now be held exclusively at IG Stadium, Kohima, culminating in the grand finale under the lights.
In anticipation of increased crowd turnout, the organisers have announced a total restriction on vehicle entry into the restricted area of IG Stadium starting October 6. Only vehicles belonging to tournament officials, invited guests, and participating teams (limited to one bus and two cars, or five cars) will be permitted entry to ensure smooth traffic management.
The organising committee has also reiterated that intoxicating substances are strictly prohibited inside the stadium premises. Anyone found violating the rule will face strict disciplinary action and be held accountable for any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the committee has reminded media and content creators that, under the tournament’s official partnership with Dox Marketing & Media and BingeBOXX Live Streaming, the IT Section will not entertain any unauthorised live streaming or recording within the stadium premises.
The organisers have urged all concerned parties to respect this arrangement to avoid any misunderstanding or controversy.
The Ticket Committee has further informed that ticket prices will remain unchanged until the completion of the pre-quarter stage. However, from the quarter-final stage onward, ticket rates will be revised to Rs.100, applicable through to the semi-finals and final.
All three concluding rounds will be night matches, expected to draw large audiences as the tournament reaches its climax.
