NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy: United FC Piphema heads to semis

United FC Piphema became the third semi-finalist after it downed Asüfü Football Academy in a competitive third quarter final match in the ongoing, NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) at IG Stadium, here on Saturday.
The match turned out to be a tough one for both sides as additional time had to be added to bring out a clear winner.


Although United FC turned out to be the lucky one, the road to victory was not easy as the team had to up its game both in attacking and defending as well.
Asüfü also did have some moments where it could have been the third semi-finalist however, all of its shots were either blocked, deflected or missed the mark.
The first gaol for United FC Piphema was scored by Razoukhrielie in the 39th minute which remained as the only goal for the first half.


However , in the second half, Asüfü’s D Chozüulio Paokhamoi quickly equalised the score in the 47th minute.
The match ended with a tie till full time. An additional time of 30 minutes (15+15 ) was added.
United FC’s Ayim Mongba (7) scored the winning goal in the 97th minute. The player of the match was awarded to Kevichütuo Kire, goalie of United FC, for his contributions in securing the game with his many saves.
The award was handed over by former ASU general secretary and former tribunal general, Niezokhoto Belho who was also the match patron.
